This hunt includes an overnight stay at Captain Creighton's full-service lodge in Buras LA. Arrive on the afternoon or evening before for dinner and to settle in. Wake up to a stellar breakfast in the morning before heading out on the water. And return after a morning hunt for lunch before leaving camp. While in the duck blind, get ready to be captivated by the bountiful diversity of duck species that call this region home. Creighton's Buras, LA Duck Hunt promises an unforgettable adventure, as we set out to pursue an array of prized waterfowl, including chance at Canvas Backs, mottled ducks, elegant northern pintail, vibrant redheads, and graceful wigeon, and bountiful numbers of Gadwald. Captain Creighton has killed 11 different species in one hunt on multiple different occasions. Captain Creighton's lodge includes 8 different guest cabins some with 3 beds some with 4 beds, and each cabin has its own bathroom. Meals are supplied monday through sunday, but the weekend meals are especially delicious as they're provided by an off-the-charts chef. She is known for cooking classic louisiana dishes like fried softshell crab, crawfish etouffee, fried catfish, salads, sides, and desserts. Any duck hunting groups less than 4 may be combined with another group if need be. A group of 4 or more will have a dedicated guide and will not be combined with another group. All duck hunters are required to wear waders. If you or a men of your group doesn’t have or can’t get waders, isn’t capable of standing in water for extended periods of time, isn’t capable of getting into or out of a layout boat, please let me know at time of booking so special arrangements can be made or options can be discussed. Please, let me know well in advance so I can plan accordingly rather than scramble to make arrangements the morning of the hunt. Later in the season this could have a significant impact on the success of your hunt. Early season hunts are typically done from shore or from boat. These are much easier hunts for children, elderly, mobility impaired people. Typically the first 4-5 weeks of the season allow us to utilize boat blinds and shore blinds. Later in the season birds get weary and avoid land and large boat blinds. This is when we utilize other methods such as layout boats, small standing blinds, and other less intrusive methods of concealing hunters. Waterfowl hunting in the El Campo and Eagle Lake area can be some of the best hunting in the country, you can expect a very diverse shooting experience.
