About Your Trip

Whether it's your first trip or your 100th, head out with Captain Jason to catch fish and have fun doing it down on Cedar Key!

Captain Jason offers Half Day, Super Half Day, and Full Day trips (4,6,8hrs respectively) down on these beautiful South West Florida waters. Aboard his 24ft Carolina skiff, Captain Jason will take you to the best spots and show you the best techniques to target Redfish, Trout, and others while stalking
around the inshore waters. When conditions are right he also likes to hit it a little further away from shore to hit the Nearshore waters for bigger Sharks and Cobia! Captain Jason likes to keep a weathered eye on the forecast to determine what time slots will be best to catch the right tides, but generally, half-day trips start around 8am and 1pm, and Super Half and Full Day trips start around 8 am.

No matter what duration you choose for your adventure or what time you start you can rest assured knowing Captain Jason will put all his knowledge, experiences, and expertise to work for you to ensure you have a safe and incredible time out on the water!

Feel free to bring your own fly gear if that's your flavor of choice. But Captain Jason will provide all the best light tackle rods, lures, and bait you need for success. He will also supply a cooler with ice and water. Jason recommends you bring any other snacks and drinks you'd like to enjoy while onboard, sunscreen, sunglasses, rain jacket bug repellant, camera, and don't forget: a desire to have fun and catch fish!

Captain Jason grew up fishing….from bass in the fresh waters of Central Florida to Redfish, Trout, Cobia and Sharks in the salt water of Cedar Key, he loves being on the water. He loves sharing what he has learned with others. He feels blessed to have been able to enjoy the outdoors and loves sharing that with others. He loves seeing the excitement of people catching fish and enjoying the outdoors.

Since he was a boy, Cedar Key has held
a special place in his heart; from fishing off the Cedar Key pier as a child with his grandparents and family to putting his own family on his boat as a young man, he has always loved the excitement-never knowing what that next cast may bring. Jason loves sharing his love of fishing with others. He enjoys seeing their excitement when they hook into that fish and put it in the boat. It is truly a passion for him to help others experience what he has been blessed to experience his whole life….the outdoors.

“One More Cast” is one of his favorite sayings. It is always about the unknown of what that next cast holds, it could hold the fish of a lifetime or it could hold our thoughts captive so you reel in and make “one more cast”.

What makes you different from other guides?
I’m pretty laid back. I like teaching people. I like seeing kids get fired up about fishing. But I can also switch gears, if I’ve got expert fishermen on the boat then I just let them fish. I don’t need to do much teaching. You really have to adapt to any situation and custoner knowledge.
