About Your Trip

More than the casual angler, but can't dedicate to a full-day on the water? Sounds like you need an 8 Hour Private Fishing Charter. A very popular trip, this option allows you to spend some quality time offshore chasing down some highly sought-after premier species, without breaking the bank or dedicating an entire day. (This is the most popular trip among work groups and event outings).

You will start by trolling your way to your
first fishing spot and during your return to shore (and in between, when time allows), but your main focus will be bottom-fishing. On our 8 Hour Fishing Trip, you can expect to be targeting a large variety of species, based on season and availability. For your trolling pleasures, we will be hunting excellent top-water fish like King Mackerel, Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and Bonita. Once we start dropping our lines, you can expect species like Vermillion Snapper (Mingo Snapper), White Snapper, Black Snapper, and Porgys. Additionally, this is an excellent option during Red Snapper/Grouper season, and you want the challenge of hooking and landing these delicious beasts. This is the Gulf of Mexico......you never know what surprises might be lurking.

Thank you for your interest in this booking, please let us know if you have any questions. Lets go fishing!

Notes:
A 3% Payment Proccessing fee will apply for all online, credit card, or digital wallet transactions and will be assessed and collected at the dock. No fees apply for payments made with cash/business check.

Please remember- deckhands humbly work hard for and graciously accept tips. Customary gratuity is 20% of trip price and can be accepted before or after your trip. Thank you for your generosity!

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
I guess different folks are looking for different answers- It could be a 250lb Shark, a 150lb Sailfish, or a 70lb Wahoo- depending on what you think "counts."
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
No doubt- fried fish.

How did you get started guiding?
As a direct descendent of the founders of Destin, FL., fishing has been in our blood for literal hundreds of years.
What makes you different from other guides?
The TradeWinds has several unique factors that set us apart: -We are Federally permitted, which puts us well into the minority of charter boats. This allows us to access and harvest fish from Federal waters beyond 9 miles offshore. -The TradeWinds is a full, 360 degree, walk-around vessel. So you won't be crammed on the back of the boat fishing on top of the rest of your group or having to take turns. You can spread out. (Our cabin is also air-conditioned with 2 full restrooms!) -That stuff is marvelous, but the heart and soul of the TradeWinds is the people that serve you. Our Captain, a USMC Veteran diver, has 50+ years experience captaining, and deckhands all have 20+ years saltwater fishing experience- so no matter what, you've got 70+ years of expertise at your back.
