About Your Trip

During your inshore fishing trip with Captain Kicen, you will catch some of the best-tasting fish and, at the same time, some of the hardest fighting fish Florida has to offer. You will voyage to some of Captain Kicen’s favorite backcountry fishing holes–largely untouched by modern development. From Volusia, Flagler to St Johns Counties, Captain Kicen will meander through brackish waters, creeks, and marshlands that are full are prime habitat for many sought after fish species, such as Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, and Sheepshead. Rest assured, Captain Kicen always has a pulse for where the fish are.

All guests will have their fishing adventure on a 16′ 4″ Ankona Copperhead. The Copperhead is equipped with electronic fish finding equipment, an Evinrude 60 single motor–for a more tactful approach to your fish—and a wireless trolling motor.

All the necessary equipment, lures, and live bait await you on board. Anglers are also covered by the charter’s Florida fishing license. When regulations allow it, you can keep your catch, and Captain Kicen will clean and bag it for you at no extra charge. Families, including children, are welcome.

Captain Kicen invites you to bring your own bait, tackle, rods, and reels too if you'd like. Nothing like catching your next personal best on your own gear! Don't forget your polarized shade, a hat, other sun protection, and any snacks and beverages you'd like to enjoy onboard.

Captain Kicen is a native Floridian. Captain Kicen was born in St. Augustine (St. Johns County) and raised in Flagler Beach (Flagler County), Florida, and has fished these waters since he was old enough to hold a fishing rod. Captain Kicen has extensive knowledge of the local waters and the many fish species that inhabit them both offshore and inshore. Captain Kicen is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and the owner and operator of his own charter business. Captain Kicen takes great pride in guiding, you will be fishing with him personally, and it is his mission to show anglers what makes fishing in northeast Florida so special.

Seasoned pros and complete beginners alike will be warmly welcomed on board. You will get a trip tailored to your skills and wishes. In short, Captain Kicen aims to offer nothing less than the perfect fishing trip!

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable (but if the weather is too bad to go out, you will still receive a credit back to your account).

If the weather doesn’t cooperate you’ll be covered by our 100% weather guarantee and you won’t lose your deposit.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
