About Your Trip

Take your kids out on the water and get them hooked on fishing! Captain Marvin will teach them how to fish in the calm waters of the Hogtown Bayou and Choctawhatchee Bay—both perfect places to learn how to cast and retrieve. This is mainly a catch and release trip, but if you catch something worth eating, Captain Marvin will filet it and let you take it home for dinner! If you don’t want to keep the fish, Captain Marvin is experienced in CPR fishing – “Catch, Photo, Release”. This way, you’ll ensure you do minimal harm to the fish you catch, which will then be safely released back into its natural habitat.

On this easygoing trip, the kiddos will be targeting Black Drum, Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, and Speckled Trout. Captain Marvin primarily uses live bait, but is happy to use artificial as well. The species you'll target are perfect for beginners and will provide a captivating fishing experience for kids!

From the first-time angler to the skilled professional, Captain Marvin will do his best to keep you on the fish and put a smile on your face. Don't forget to bring your favorite snacks, drinks, and a tip for your guide. All the fishing equipment for your group is provided by the Captain, along with fishing licenses for all occupants of the boat. Book your trip and Captain Marv will take care of the rest!

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
