trip description for Rockport Wade Fishing W/ Artificial in Rockport

This will be a half day of wade fishing the Rockport Tx bay systems. We will use a variety of different Artifical lures from soft plastics to top waters primarily targeting trophy trout and redfish. I will provide all the tackle as far as lures go. But you are more than welcome and encouraged to bring your favorite and most confident baits. You will be required to bring all your own gear consisting of waders and boots, wading belts with pliers and stringers and last but not least your own rods. I do recommend each customer bring 2 rods incase one accidentally breaks or has a malfunction. I can provide beginners rods and reels for an additional cost of $50 per rod. One more thing that I hope won’t be a deal breaker but since the major freeze a few years ago I along with a lot of the Texas guides do “Not” allow clients to keep any trout. Our trout fishery especially here in the rockport area took a major hit during the freeze. With that being said, It is coming back and there is plenty of trout action to have but if we want it to have a chance to get back to the way it was and hopefully even better and long lasting we have to continue to let them go and grow. Like I said I really hope that isn’t a deal breaker. Read More

trip description for Coastal Bend Cast and Blast in Rockport

On this "cast and blast" adventure, you can take full advantage of all that the Texas coast has to offer, bagging ducks in the morning and catching fish all afternoon. This trip is perfect for groups! In terms of duck hunting, South Texas is smack in the middle of the Central Flyway, and is a stopover for dozens of migratory waterfowl species. The sheltered bays here draw hundreds of thousands of ducks annually, including Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teals, Wigeons, Redheads, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Mottled Ducks, and more! You can target all of these species, which are exciting quarries and great eating to boot! On this trip, your guide, Chase, will make sure to put you in the perfect spot to nail some inbound waterfowl. He'll provide the decoys and will brush in your blind, so all you need to bring is your waders, your guns, and your shells. Chase also has an excellent eye, so once you've hit your limit on one species, he can help point out other viable targets before they're in-range. Stay on the right side of the law and help protect the resource by only shooting what you're allowed! Texas' Coastal Bend region is also a fisherman's paradise, with abundant opportunities to catch Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead, and more in the shallow backwater and marshes. On this charter fishing trip, guests can experience the thrill of reeling in these exciting and delicious fish, which are a blast to catch for any saltwater angler! Once you're out on the water aboard Captain Chase's 22’ airboat, you'll have the chance to use a variety of techniques to catch these fish including sight casting with lures or bait, "soaking" cut shrimp or mullet on the bottom to create a commotion that will attract the fish. The shallow water makes for an exciting and challenging fishing experience, as the fish can be easily spooked and will require quick reflexes and a deft touch to catch. After a day of fishing, guests will return to the dock with their catch, which can be cleaned and filleted by the captain. Go home with a trophy, a full cooler, and a camera full of lifelong memories! Read More

trip description for Fly Fishing Rockport in Rockport

If you're looking for a real deal saltwater flyfishing adventure, look no further than Captain Dylan. Dylan lives and breaths flyfishing and moves all around texas to follow the best fishing in season. For his saltwater trips, Captain Dylan usually runs out of Rockport, Texas. However, dependent on various situations and/or time of year—we may fish as far south as Aransas Pass and as far north as Port O’ Connor. Primarily, we will be sight casting for redfish in shallow water with the occasional shot at Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder & Sheepshead. In the spring and summer, when the tides are up, we will have opportunities at Bull Reds and Jack Crevalle in the bay. In terms of gear, Captain Dylan encourages you to bring your own gear, but can also supply you with everything you if need be. If you would prefer to bring your own rod, a 7-8 wt rod with floating line is ideal. On occasion, a larger setup (10-12 wt) may be needed for over Slot Bull Reds, Big Jacks, and even Tarpon. You can go over all these details with Dylan in the days leading up to your trip, you can let Captain Dylan know what you have and what you don't have and he can fill in the gaps. Dylan will supply his own hand-tied flies specifically crafted based on the depth and clarity of the water for the given day. Simple shrimp and crab patterns in various different colors and sizes are go-to's for the texas coast. Variations of the Clouser Minnow, Tarpon Toad, Borski Sliders, Seaducers, Kwan, Crimp, & Gurglers in different sizes (2,4,6) and colors (tan, white, purple, chartreuse, pink) are all great patterns you'll have on board as well. Captain Dylan provides ice, water, and coolers for your adventure. He recommends that you bring polarized sunglasses, your Texas fishing License, hat, sunscreen, boat shoes or non-black soled shoes, rain gear, and a lunch for full-day trips Read More

Went out with Cpt. Jeff's guide Cpt. Gibson. Had an absolute blast. Couldn't recommend this group enough. Put us on some great fish and Cpt. Gibson had a great attitude. You won't be disappointed. First time using Captain Experience's and was very impressed with their communication and responsiveness. Will definitely book with them again.

This was our first time fishing in the intercoastal. We had a great time fishing with James. He put us on fish at the first stop and moved us on to the next spot as soon as the action slowed down. He provided quality live bait and showed us effective techniques. He took care of baiting, netting our catch and otherwise took great care of us. James was jovial, easy-going and incredibly patient with us. We had a blast.
