On this 4 to 8-hour fly-fishing trip, Greg will float you out on the Brazos River, a smaller tributary such as the Paluxy River, or one of the many of the area lakes. Here, he'll give you some of his expert fly fishing tips as you target several fish species including Largemouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Striped Bass, Hybrid Striped Bass, White Bass, and a variety of the Sunfish species. However, on the Brazos River or one of the many area Lakes, he prefers a 6-8 weight Fly Rod. Big flies allow opportunities to catch some bigger fish but require a heavier fly line. Big fish are also easier to control and land on a 6-8 weight fly rod. In terms of lines, he recommends floating, weight forward and shorter taper fly lines.
