Head out deep with Captain David to chase down some of the hardest fighting and finest-tasting fish the ocean has to offer. The Tuna fishing in Venice can be good year-round! Like most types of fishing though, weather patterns and fish habits can be unpredictable, not to mention Tuna notoriously spend most of their time at unreachable depths. For the best chances at giant
Yellowfin Tuna look to book your trip in the Fall or Winter months and definitely book an overnight trip.

Though Tuna can be caught anywhere from 5 to 200 miles offshore, the overnight trip is highly recommended if you really want the best shot at some big Yellowfin. Billfishing is also good offshore of Venice, LA. You can target Marlin, Sailfish, and even happen to hook into a Swordfish!

Captain David is committed to making sure his customers have a great experience out on the water. He will work his tail off to get you onto the fish! His brand new 40' Sea Hunter is the perfect fishing vessel for these waters equipped with all the latest gear, gadgets, quality fishing tackle, and a comfortable head!

Captain David offers serious Venice fishing charters for Yellowfin Tuna and much more. Captain David commands over a decade of experience running Venice fishing charters for Yellowfin Tuna and other bluewater species like Swordfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, and more.

Venice, LA, fondly known as is worth fishing right, and there's no better way than to hire a licensed and insure, experienced guide like Captain David, who's also knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly.

There's a reason they call Louisiana a "Sportsman's Paradise"
and there's further reason to call Venice “The Fishing Capital of the World.” Oil rigs scatter the coastline 30-50 miles offshore and are magnets for a wide range of fish species. In addition, the massive natural underwater topographic structures and canyons provide ample cover for giant pelagic predator species like Tuna, Swordfish, and Marlin.

Have a blast targeting Yellowfin Tuna, which can be caught year-round out of Venice, Louisiana. Loved for their fight and quality meat, this is a true bucket list fish. You can also chase Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Cobia, Wahoo, and even Marlin, as well as bottom fish like Red Snapper, and Grouper.

Captain David runs a 38’ Fountain center console powered by a big-time triple 350HP Mercury Verados. The boat is equipped with a full arsenal of marine electronics so you can find fish faster. Once you're on 'em Captain David's full outrigger and downrigger set will have multiple lines trolling in the water to increase your chances of a monster hookup.

Your first stop out will be for fresh baitfish, so no baited trailing hook will stay untouched for long. Once you get a bite, you're in for the long haul thanks to all-Shimano tackle.

To wrap things up, Captain David and his crew will clean and fillet your catch for you, so remember to bring a cooler! You will also need a valid Louisiana saltwater fishing license for everyone onboard.

Importantly, FUEL IS NOT INCLUDED, and could cost from $300 to $1000, depending on the trip.

Fill in date, party size, trip duration, and start time above to book and get out there with Captain David and Captain Experiences!

Captain David was very good and interesting to talk with. Our first day out his deck hand had misunderstood our fishing days and was unable to go so David had to do the trip himself. He did his very best but unfortunately we didn't catch anything and helped him as ...Read More
