About Your Trip

Join Captain Dave on the Columbia River system for a Salmon and Steelhead special. Hundreds of thousands of salmon and steelhead come up the Columbia River every year, making trips here extremely productive. This is one of the busiest fisheries in the state offering up year-round action. Not only are salmon and steelhead plentiful, but they also taste amazing.

You will be trolling herring on the incoming tide and anchor on the outgoing tide, running
kwikfish. These two methods are extremely productive for catching chrome bright salmon that are only one to two days out of the ocean. These spring salmon are also known as Springers, which are among the very best eating fish in the world.

Captain Dave will take you exploring from the Bonneville Dam to Buoy 10 near Ilwaco, Washington where the Columbia flows into the Pacific Ocean. You will be aboard Captain Dave's 23' Alumaweld utility boat, which is equipped with all the amenities you need for a successful trip including a Fishfinder and an icebox to store your catch. The vessel is powered by twin Yamaha engines with a total horsepower of 450hp.

The Buoy 10 fishery is a well-known hot spot for catching Salmon in the region! Fishing for Sockeye, Coho Salmon, Silvers, Chinook Salmon, and Fall Chinook and the hard-fighting Steelhead during peak times of the year can really produce some great action so book your trip soon. All you need to bring are snacks, drinks, sunblock, and appropriate clothing. Captain Dave will provide all the rods, reels, bait, and tackle.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
