Head out for some fast and furious early-morning action chasing ducks down in Lake Choke Canyon!

Your guide and outfitter, Kirk, will provide all the scouting, decoys, transportation, blind setups, and calling for your morning hunt. Whether you're an experienced duck hunter or just getting into the sport, this South Texas duck hunt will be a real blast for anyone. Your guide and outfitter, Kirk, has years of experience hunting the South Texas coast, and will put you right on the birds.

Texas is smack in the middle of the Central Flyway, and is a stopover for dozens of migratory waterfowl specied. The lakes here draw hundreds of thousands of ducks annually, including Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teals, Wigeons, Redheads, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Mottled Ducks. You can target all of these species, which are exciting quarries and great eating to boot!

Kirk runs these trips on his 18' Weldbilt skiff, with a shallow draft to take you through even the skinniest waters. She can accommodate up to 4 hunters, so bring some good company! You'll typically be hunting from the boat itself, nestled back up amongst the marsh banks, since public property can be scarce around Lake Livingston.

Kirk asks that you bring your own shotguns, shells, camoflauge, and waders. You will also need your Texas hunting license and a federal duckstamp as well.

With over 40 years of alligator gar fishing and guiding experience, Captain Kirk is the original alligator gar guide for rod and reel catch and release angling.

Captain Kirk started guiding alligator gar fishing in 1999, and since then, he's caught alligator gar from Mexico to the Mississippi river and all parts in between.

He has caught the largest gar ever by rod and reel, a 365 lb alligator gar in 1991 that was fish was 9 ft 6 in long.

Captain Kirk is proud to say that he's caught 6 fish over 300 lbs, and his trips catch from 1 to 6 fish over 200 lbs each year. Captain Kirk has also amassed over 100 IGFA world records for all species.

Captain Kirk gets it done when it comes to catching monster Alligator Gar- he's great with kids and families and looks forward to hosting your next unforgettable adventure!

Kirk also runs badass hog hunts out of Coldspring, Texas! Join him to blast some feral hogs, which are a major problem in this part of the country.

You'll need to buy a hunting license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable (but if the weather is too bad to go out, you will still receive a credit back to your account).

If the weather doesn’t cooperate you’ll be covered by our 100% weather guarantee and you won’t lose your deposit.

We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
