Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
The biggest fish I've caught so far was a 7ft Bull shark off of the beachfront.
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Fried fish/shrimp or BBQ pulled pork.
What’s your favorite band?
I don't really have a favorite band, but my preference is Texas country. I also like classic rock and some modern country.
What’s your favorite movie?
I don't really have a favorite movie either, but if I had to choose one it would be Man on Fire. I prefer action, westerns and comedy.
What’s your favorite sports team?
I'm not really into sports, there's too many fish to catch and animals to hunt.
What’s your drink of choice?
My favorite soft drink is Big Red, beer would be Smithwick's red ale, whiskey would be Crown Royal.
What was your last halloween costume?
My last costume was a Daddysaurus for my 3yr old son, who was a dinosaur ranch park ranger.
What do you want for Christmas this year?
I haven't really thought about it much, boring answer, I know. Thats what my wife said too.
How did you get started guiding?
I have been an avid fisherman from a young age, so I wanted to find a way to take my passion and share it with others. I got started guiding by doing lots of research, talking with other guides and captains, completing the required training and obtaining the required licenses. I also visited my local community college and enrolled in their small business development program, which was a tremendous help.
What makes you different from other guides?
What makes me different is I will take the time to explain the intricacies of fishing and try my best to make it a fun and educational experience for everyone, especially for children. Our trips are custom tailored to meet the goals of our clients, whether it be to target a specific species of fish, take home a tasty meal, or just enjoy time on the water. Additionally, as an active member of the Gulf Coast Rescue Squad and former law enforcement, safety is our top priority. We are focused on giving our clients a safe, fun and enjoyable experience that will make memories to last a lifetime.
