Looking for an enjoyable laid back adventure whacking reds, trout, snook and more? There's no better choice than Captain Russell down in South Padre Island! Whether you're looking to dial it in and catch a monster on artificials or just kick back and catch some fish for the love of the sport, these trips are a blast for both beginners and experienced anglers, and are a great way to enjoy the South Texas coast and all the great fishing it offers.

On this trip, you'll use light tackle gear and artificial lures exclusively. This trip is offered at a discounted rate since Captain Russell doesn't need to buy live bait. You'll step off the dock and onto Captain Russell's 24' Carolina Skiff. She's an ideal boat for motoring around the bay, and has a shallow draft to get you into the inshore waters and flats. Captain Russell will supply everything you need for an awesome trip, including rods, reels, and tackle! All you need to bring along are any food or drinks you'd like to enjoy on board, your sunscreen, and your Texas Fishing License. Captain Russel will take care of the rest to ensure you have an epic day out on the water!

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
