About Your Trip

Head out with Captain James for an epic day chasing all kinds of inshore sportfish on the bountiful waters of South Texas! The intricate bay systems surrounding Rockport are prime habitat for iconic species such as Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder.

You'll be fishing on board Captain James' 23' Majek bay boat. She can handle very skinny water, so you can chase fish all the way into the backwaters! From Jack Crevalle, Speckled Trout, Flounder,
Ladyfish, to Redfish, no species is safe when Captain James's is out on the water. He typically likes to use light tackle rigs, throwing artificials and live bait on the bays, or sneak up on fish sunbathing on the flats!

Captain James will bring all the necessary supplies for your day out on the water, so all you need to bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, your sun protection, and a Texas fishing license. Book a trip and start wearing 'em out!

Captain James's wife and he built a life from the ground up and made a living out of owning and operating their family farm. They raised three kids the way God intended and after two of the three moved out, the captain and his wife then started to reflect on the life they made. After years of intensive labor, Captain James decided that it was time for a change. He has fished for the entirety of his life and when he learned that he could make a career of it, he dove right in. The captain began to spend time in the Rockport area and stuck around for about 5 years before making the decision that becoming fisherman was a career he would like to pursue.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.
Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
Once you book the trip, we will connect you directly with the guide to go over any additional details. In the meantime, our team is always available to answer your questions via email, text, chat, or call!
