Located just a short drive from San Antonio, Calaveras Lake is home to a diverse array of fish, including the coveted freshwater Redfish. These fish are stocked in the lake every year, providing a totally unique opportunity for Texas anglers to catch their state's most popular saltwater gamefish without heading to the coast!

After you board Bryan's 21' Carolina center console, you'll be set to go. The boat is stocked with all the necessary gear, including top-of-the-line rods, reels, and lures, as well as plenty of ice-cold drinks and snacks to keep you energized throughout the day.

As you set off onto the shimmering waters of Calaveras Lake, Captain Bryan will take you to the best fishing spots, using his years of experience and local knowledge to find the biggest and most elusive Redfish. The lake is known for its clear, shallow waters and abundant vegetation, providing the perfect habitat for these prized game fish.

As you cast your line into the water, you'll feel the adrenaline rush as you wait patiently for a bite. When a Redfish takes the bait, the fight is on! These hard-fighting fish will put up a good fight, testing your strength and skill as you try to reel them in. In addition, you can hook up Catfish and Striped Bass, both of which are also a blast to catch and solid table fare as well.

Captain Bryan offers the best freshwater Redfish trips you'll find anywhere. Yeah, you read that right- freshwater redfish trips on Lake Calaveras are something you need to see to believe!

Every year, Texas Parks and Wildlife bi-annually releases over 600,000 red drum ("Redfish") into Calaveras Lake. Captain Bryan will set up his 21' Carolina Skiff for downrigging to put your group on the Redfish. Lake Calaveras also offers up sizable Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass ("Stripers") and more.

Captain Bryan's 21' Carolina Skiff is complete with twin 150 HP Johnson engines, GPS, fishfinder, radar, VHF radio, and safety gear.

Captain Bryan provides all necessary fishing gear and tackle, including top-quality Penn rods and reels. All live bait will be caught from the lake and is included in the price of your trip.

To end your trip, Captain Bryan will clean and fillet your catch so you can head home with a fresh catch for dinner.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Bryan will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate you’ll be covered by our 100% weather guarantee and you won’t lose your deposit.

Captain Bryan knows Lake Calaveras. He has been guiding guests for 13 years. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He found the drum school and put us on them. We limited out and had a great time!!! We will be back soon!!!

Bryan can put you on the fish! Caught & released plus or minus 25 reds in about 3 hours, and at 2 points we had four fish on the lines at the same time. Freshwater reds are a bucket lister for anyone.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
