Quepos is home to the famous Marina Pez Vela, a fishing hot spot and home to several fishing tournaments every year. The fishing grounds of Costa Rica, and especially Pez Vela, are among the best bill fisheries in the world and provide a wide variety of prized species in both the inshore and offshore waters!

On this full-day trip, Captain Rudy will take you from renowned Marina Pez Vela to the offshore Costa Rican waters where you'll be targeting serious big game fish such as Blue Marlin, Cubera Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Mullet Snapper, Red Snapper, Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Wahoo, and Yellowfin Tuna. You'll be targeting these fish using methods such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, jigging and trolling. Whether you want to feel the bites with a rod in your hand or lounge and enjoy the view while you wait for a reel to start screaming, Captain Rudy will have you covered!

You'll be fishing aboard a 38' Bertram sportfisher that can hold up to 6 people. Powered by twin 454 HP Caterpillar engines for a cruising speed of 24 knots, this beast will cut through the offshore waters with ease and get you to the prime spots in a hurry! She'll keep you comfortable on your journey with a Fully Air Conditioned Salon, Main Helm and Cabin. She comes complete with all the best navigational equipment, Outriggers, Custom Designed Connley Rods specifically for the boat, Shimano Talica Reels & Penns, a Live Bait Well and Tuna Tubes.

Captain Rudy will provide all rods, reels, tackle, and food and drinks for everyone on board. He will also provide fish cleaning service for you to take home any keepers. We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.
Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.
Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
