If your looking for local knowledge and insider secrets on what the hottest bite is around St. Augustine, you've come to the right place.

Fishing the St. Augustine and Palm Coast area flats provides some of the best fishing in Northeast Florida. Whether you're fishing with live bait or sight fishing with artificials you will have a great time targeting many species like Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, Flounder and many others.

You will be fishing from Captain AJ's 18' Mako Flats powered by a 90hp Yamaha with a crazy shallow draft that allows him to get you up shallow where the fish like to hang out. The fish like this shallow water because predators are usually too big to mess with them. Thus you often find happy fish willing to whack your bait. Happy fish = Happy you!

All ages and experience levels are welcome; Captain AJ is a pro when it comes to catering his trips to your experience level. Whether you’re kicking back to capture the scenery or reeling in your next big catch, Captain AJ puts in the extra effort to make sure you have an outstanding time out on the water.

Beyond secret spots, helpful tips, and lots of laughs, Captain AJ supplies everything else could you need for a successful inshore adventure. He supplies all bait, tackle, gear, fishing license and ice water. All you need to bring is appropriate clothing for Florida's climate and polarized glasses. AJ also encourages you to bring any snacks and drinks you'd like to enjoy on the boat as well.

Since Captain AJ aims to keep Florida beautiful, a percentage of the proceeds from each charter is donated to his non-profit company, Florida Republic. Florida Republic partners with conservation groups like Keepers of the Coast and Florida Wildlife Corridor to protect and preserve our Florida ecosystems. Captain AJ grew up bass fishing in the neighborhood ponds and saltwater fishing on his uncle’s boat. After a career in restaurant management in downtown St. Augustine, Captain AJ finally came to the realization that he belonged on the water. He started out by buying a simple kayak that he remodeled into an impressive fishing rig. It wasn’t long until he mastered fishing tactics and became a successful kayak angler. After numerous rewarding fishing trips with his buddies, he started leading solo guide trips. Eventually, he received his captain’s license and began pursuing his life-long passion as a full-time fishing guide. Captain AJ is adventurous, knowledgeable and is always looking forward to welcoming you onboard!

We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
