Hop on board with Captain Bob and get ready for an action-packed day of fishing the flats! The Florida Key flats are some of the best spots for Tarpon fishing in the world, and the clear waters are great for fly fishing!

On this 4-hour trip, Captain Bob will take you to the Summerland Key inshores where you'll be fly-fishing for Tarpon. Captain Bob has been guiding trips in the Florida Keys for over 20 years now, so get ready for him to put you on some fish! To attract these picture-worthy Tarpon you'll be using a fly rod to cast exactly where the fish are swimming. Captain Bob is happy to demonstrate proper fundamentals for this technique to newcomers, or to provide experienced fly fishers with some expert tips!

Tarpons have become the most sought-after game fish in the Florida Keys, April through July, being the prime season. Whether you’re using rod and reel or fly fishing, these sometimes 100 plus pound fish love to fight hard. Tides, weather, and moon phases play an essential factor in a Tarpon’s behavior, but these kings are always hungry, biting on both live and artificial bait. Bring your camera because catching a tarpon is a stunning experience that you will want to capture. These fascinating sport fish are catch and release. It only takes one battle with these prehistoric creatures to become completely mesmerized, and you’ll be longing to catch more!

Captain Bob fishes aboard a 18' Action Craft skiff boat, equipped with a Fishfinder, Live Bait Well, Wireless Trolling Motor, and an Ice Box to store your catches. The 150 HP Yamaha engine is sure to get you where you need to be in the Summerland Key inshores.

Captain Bob will provide all rods, reels, and tackle. All you need to bring is any food or drinks you might need out on the water. Come aboard with Captain Bob and catch some fish!

Captain Bob is a well-rounded fisherman who began his career fishing freshwater for Bluegill and Largemouth Bass. From there, he moved to Ocean City Maryland where he became a first mate on offshore trips targeting Marlin, Tuna, Sharks, and more. After earning his captain's license and visiting the Florida Keys on vacation, he knew he had to make the full-time leap, and the rest is history!

Captain Bob's been guiding the charter fishing trips out of Cudjoe Key since 2000. He prides himself on understand customer needs and desires, which plays to his versatility as a guide- he's just as comfortable spending the day putting kids on fish after fish for rod-bending action as he is stalking that one prized fish with experienced anglers on the flats with light or fly tackle. We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
