trip description for Overnight Bayou Adventure in Lafitte

One day of fishing just isn’t enough? Make it a double! Captain Gavin and his experienced crew are stoked to take you out for a 48-hour fishing extravaganza! Up to 10 guests can comfortably fit aboard the 32’ Aluma Marine which you will use to extensively search the Louisiana marshland for Redfish and Speckled Trout. The network of canals stretches for miles, and over 2 days you will have plenty of time to explore it. Y'all will be staying in the newly renovated cabins, bunkhouses, or houseboats that sit on the bayou for a beautiful view of the bayou. Besides Redfish and Speckled Trout, the flats are home to Black Drum, Flounder, and Redfish, all of which are delicious. Each person on the trip should bring a large cooler to keep their catch fresh for dinner. Not to worry, lodging overnight is included. There, Captain Gavin will clean your catch for you and you can try your hand at the grill. He will also provide you with all the rods, reels, bait, and tackle necessary for a successful trip, as well as sodas during the hot days. You should also bring extra drinks and snacks for each day, because the weather down there can get pretty hot. Always feel free to take a break in the air-conditioned cabin aboard the vessel. You have 2 whole days to fish––no need to spend every second with a rod in hand. The twin 600hp Yamaha engines will guide you smoothly through the flats as Captain Gavin takes you to the best fishing holes in the area. Read More

trip description for Overnight Cocodrie Trip in Chauvin

If you're looking for an absolutely epic offshore sportfishing trip, you're in the right place. With 24 hours at your disposal, the world is truly your oyster when you climb aboard Captain Lane's 42' Freeman. This oversized catamaran center console is an offshore angler's dream vessel, combining comfort and space with speed and fishability. Not to mention, with quad 300 Yamahas strapped to the back, Captain Lane can get this puppy cranking up to 65 knots! On these trips, you'll be targeting Tuna out on the Midnight Knob, roughly 170 miles offshore. Although Tuna feeding patterns are hard to predict, you'll try your luck in the early morning hours, when they come to the surface to feed. Most overnight trips will involve some bottom fishing and trolling during the afternoon as you make your way offshore. You can catch billfish and other pelagics, such as Wahoo and Mahi Mahi, on your way out! Once the sun starts to go down, you're welcome to get comfy in a bean bag and snooze if you'd like as Captain Lane will start ripping it offshore. You'll run out deep as the sun sets to get into position for the early morning bite around 3-4 AM. As mentioned, Captain Lane's 42' Freeman is equipped with bean bags for your lounging pleasure on the way offshore, and also comes with all the best rods, reels, electric reels, and tackle you could possibly need for a successful day out on the water. Get out there and knock some species off your bucket list! Read More

trip description for Bad Ass Bow Fishing in Lafitte

Tired of regular old rod n’ reel fishing? Try out bowfishing with Captain Gavin! This amazing trip takes you into the shallow marshlands of southeast Louisiana, where you have the opportunity to pick off fish the old fashioned (and more bad ass) way. At night, you will set out for a 6 hour journey aboard an 18’ Alumatech Air Boat. This stealthy fish catching machine allows you to sneak up on your prey. It comfortably fits up to 4 guests and the Captain. You will be targeting Redfish, but many Drum, Gar, Sheephead, and Catfish can be found too. Captain Gavin will clean your catch, provide all the necessary equipment, and bring a cooler to keep your catch fresh. You also need to bring your own food and drinks, as well as a jacket to stay warm in the cold night air. All bows and arrows are provided by the Captain. This once-in-a-lifetime experience should be both fun and rewarding. You should definitely bring a camera to document this unique trip! Read More

Recent Reviews of Captain Experiences

  • ★★★★★
Captain Daryl was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and laid-back. He made our fishing trip beginner-friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we caught the fish we were after. We reeled in every species you’d want during our inshore adventure! His teaching skills were top-notch, and he never once made me feel inadequate due to my lack of fishing experience. Plus, he had a great sense of humor that kept us laughing throughout the trip. Best fishing trip I’ve been on! I can't wait to go fishing with him again!

Brittany B. with Daryl C. of Grand Isle, Louisiana

Mr. Daryl is the first charter I've ever taken, and I would not hesitate to book him again. From the first minute you meet him, he's cutting up with jokes and makes you feel like you've known him for a long time. He quickly put us into a steady supply of HUGE trout. Not a single one had to be thrown back. Can't wait to do this again.

Sam Z. with Daryl C. of Grand Isle, Louisiana

  • ★★★★★
Daryl thanks for all the shrimp on your 3 hour trawl Friendly Informative Fun And caught what we were after!

Paul S. with Daryl C. of Grand Isle, Louisiana

  • ★★★★★
Had a great day with Seth despite the weather. I was only in town for 1 day and could not reschedule so we decided to go out and make the best of it. We caught a nice 22" redfish on first cast and after a few hours work we had another 22" and a fat 27" redfish in the boat. Seth stayed positive the whole day as we tried different spots and techniques. Will definitely fish with him again, hopefully in better weather.
