Go aboard with Captain Ryan and spend a day hooking Walleye on Lake Erie! Over the course of this trip, Captain Ryan will take you to his favorite fishing holes to target Walleye, the most popular gamefish species in Ohio and a top-notch eating fish!

On this trip, you'll be using a variety of lures to draw bites. Depending on the time of year, there are a several different techniques to choose from. In the spring, you'll use deep-diving crank baits to find Walleye hanging out in the lower levels of the water column. Towards the middle of the summer, you'll focus on trolling. As the season progresses, you may switch to spoons or other lures depending on what's getting the bite. Captain Ryan will make sure to get you set up with the best tackle, no matter the season!

His 20' Skeeter skiff can comfortably fit up to 3 guests, plus the captain himself. She's powered by a 250-HP Yamaha engine, so you'll be able to spend less time cruising and more time fishing. In addition, the skiff is equipped with a 9.9 Yamaha kicker motor and a MinnKota Terrova electric trolling motor for amazing maneuverability in shallow water!

Everything you need for an amazing trip will be provided by Captain Ryan. He’ll bring all the equipment including rods, reels, tackle, and bait. All you need is sun protection, your Ohio fishing licenses, and appropriate clothing. Check the weather reports a couple days before your trip so you come prepared!

Captain Ryan has been fishing since he was too young to remember. As he grew up, he fished every conceivable body of water he could reach on a bicycle. As he got older, he was able to spend more and more time on Lake Erie and Presque Isle Bay, and he dreamed of taking people fishing for a living one day.
That dream was interrupted by a 20-year career in information technology, starting a family, and building a future. In the summer of 2019, Captain Ryan lost his mother to cancer. In the aftermath of that experience, he knew he had to make a change in his professional life. Shortly thereafter, he refocused on his passions and his second career as a charter captain was born. Today, Captain Ryan is lucky to share his love of fishing with people of all ages and skill levels.

We vet our guides to make sure they are the best of the best. We want guides who not only put you on 'em, but show you a great time, keep you safe, and give you a memorable experience with your group.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!

In the case of inclement weather, our guides will make the call and we'll work with you to reschedule your trip or issue a credit for the full deposit of the trip to be used on any of our trips across the country. Your safety is our top concern.

Each trip’s price is set by the guide and factors in all of their costs. A big determinant of cost is often the type of boat and associated fuel costs, but other guide costs include leases, marina / slip fees, bait costs, and the cost to provide and maintain all of the gear you’ll need on your trip.
