The cold, rich Pacific currents that flow along California's coast make San Diego an angler's paradise. The inshore and nearshore water here supports a superb marine ecosystem with tons of species, all of which you can go after with Captain Nathan. You'll be targeting Halibut, Barracuda, Rockfish, and Bonito—a smaller relative of the Tuna that puts up a fun fight. Each of these species occupies a different niche: Halibut lurk on the bottom, Barracuda patrol the middle of the water column, Rockfish hang out on the reefs and rocks, and Bonito inhabit the topwater looking for small prey. Naturally, you'll use different techniques to target these species, including trolling, bottomfishing, trolling, and jigging to pick up bites! For this trip you'll be joining Captain Aaron on his 34' cuddy cabin sportfishing vessel equipped with snorkels, goggles, fins, and small weights to help you dive, this trip is an all-inclusive experience! These trips are for up to 4 fishermen. If you have others that want observe Captain Aaron can legally take 6 patrons total on his boat, but there is typically a small additional fee involved per extra observer. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly! Your excursion begins aboard a 25’ Sea Hunt center console with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
