trip description for Flats Fishing - 17' Maverick in Homestead

Head out with Captain Alex for an action-packed day of fly fishing in the Florida Atlantic inshores! Biscayne Bay is home to beautiful inshore flats where you can catch some of the prized fish that Florida is known for, all while just outside the city. On this 4 to 8-hour trip, Captain Alex will motor you on through Biscayne Bay and the Homestead inshores where you'll be fly fishing for sought-after fish including Bonefish, Permit, Redfish, Snook, and Tarpon. Part of what makes fly fishing for these species so exciting is the challenge of getting such elusive fish to bite. Accurate casts are almost always required, and the windy conditions of the Florida Keys only add to the challenge. While Captain Alex is happy to give you helpful instruction to accommodate your skill level, this trip is recommended for experienced fly fishers who go out on the water more than a few times a year. Captain Alex has a listing for this same trip with traditional rods and tackle that we recommend for those who aren't quite expert casters, and we guarantee it's just as much fun! For those experienced anglers who feel comfortable enough with their fly casting, Captain Alex outlines the skills you should have down with in his "About Your Guide" section. He also requests that anglers do some research on the aspects of fly fishing for Tarpon, Bonefish and Permit prior to this trip. Captain Alex is highly skilled and even the most experienced anglers will benefit from his instruction. It may take a bit of practice, but as Alex will tell you there's nothing more rewarding than landing one of these fish! You'll be aboard a 17' Maverick HPX-V with capacity for 2 anglers. Powered by a 115 HP Mercury engine, this maneuverable boat will have no problem letting you creep up and sight-cast on some fish even in hard-to-reach waters. It comes equipped with GPS, a Wireless Trolling Motor, and an Ice Box to store your catches. Captain Alex will even clean any keepers you catch to take home for a tasty meal. Captain Alex will provide all rods, reels, tackle and fishing licenses. All you need to bring is sunglasses, sunscreen, and any food or drinks you might need. Come aboard with Captain Alex and get ready to show off your skills! Read More

Captain John is located at the exciting Bayside Marketplace and Marina right in the heart of downtown Miami and just 5 minutes away from South Beach (just over MacArthur Causeway). Fish the Waters of Miami and Key Biscayne for some of the world's most prized sport fish! These trips are fantastic because there is only a short run to the fishing grounds. The water gets deep two miles offshore as you pass South Beach and Key Biscayne just off Miami. This means that you can still expect to chase down Sailfish, Kingfish, Blackfin Tuna, and other species on a short trip. The boat offers all types of tackle, from ultra-light to monster tackle. Everything is supplied for your trip except catering (beverages and/or food). Catering is easily arranged when you place your reservation. The boat features a fighting chair, rocket launcher, outriggers, and a large bait well. For your comfort in the air-conditioned saloon, there is a 32" flat-screen TV, stereo, comfortable seating with head and galley, and stateroom down. Your guide, Captain John, has been fishing the local and Bahamian waters for over thirty years, and he will ensure you have a pleasant trip. Bayside Marketplace, our place of departure, is in the heart of renovated downtown Miami and the Mall is host to the Hard Rock Cafe, Hooters, and a myriad of cafes and boutiques. From this dock, it is a short and interesting ride to the ocean past cruise ships at Dodge Island and million-dollar homes that are dotted around the channels and cuts. Read More

trip description for Miami Beach Fishing Adventure in Miami Beach

It takes around 15 minutes to reach the ocean from Captain Maurice's dock and most of the fish you'll catch are within two miles offshore. Miami's warm Gulf Stream waters produce fish all year round, including Sailfish, Wahoo, Dolphin, Kingfish, Tuna, Amberjack, Barracuda and Sharks. Miami is unique because you don't have to commit to a full day adventure to chase after these big pelagic species, and though you may have better chances at bigger fish on longer adventures, the possibility (for big fish) is always there on the 4 hour as well! Captain Maurice will provide all the necessary gear for your adventure! All he recommends you bring are your favorite snacks and drinks, and your sun protection. He'll take care of the rest. Incredible fishing! I’ve never had the experience where I cast my line and within 5 seconds I get a strike. Over and over, it was constant cast and strike. Caught 20 fish in the first hour. Not only an expert guide for fishing, but Patrick is a really nice person to hang out with. Super chill to talk sports and fishing, but was cool and professional. He also recommended an awesome place for lunch where they grilled our catch! Top notch, highest recommendation possible!

Our trip with Anthony totally exceeded our expectations. From the moment we met him we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. His equipment is all first class and his knowledge of the back bay is extensive. After putting us on many fish and constant action, we were able to catch a beautiful snook for the dinner table and a fish that was a trophy fish of a lifetime. He then suggested a local restaurant and suggestions on how to prepare our catch. The ambiance, service and food preparation was the best meal of our entire trip. We would highly recommend Captain Anthony and love to spend more time with him whenever possible.
