This is a once in a lifetime trip deep dropping the Gulf of Mexico, 150 miles offshore. We will see depth from 400ft to 700ft depending. We will use electric reels that are provided for you and well as manual if you prefer. We could likely do some trolling while we are out, but our focus will be bottom Fishing for species like snowy grouper, yellow edge, grouper, tilefish, queen, snapper, Warsaw grouper, and the list goes on. Depending on the season, we may be able to catch Mangrove Snapper, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Grouper, Tripletail, various species of Sharks, Bonito, and Barracuda. Snapper, Cobia, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Sheepshead, and Pompano are also targetable if staying closer inshore is your flavor. No matter what you choose, you never know what can happen out there! Capt. Jack pilots a beautiful, 23’ vessel that can handle rough days and get you out to the nearshore waters in know time! Captain Phil offers backwater fishing adventures for the entire family and for serious anglers. Backwater fishing excursions can be day or night trips, fishing from Naples Bay to 10,000 Islands to Everglades National Park, for tarpon, snook, trout, pompano, tripletail, sharks, and more. You'll be headed out aboard Captain Phil's 24′ Avenger bay boat, which comfortably seats up to 6 people, with a t-top to shade you from the incessant South Florida Sun. Children and Pets are always welcome! Captain Phil will provide all the fishing gear (rods, reels, tackle, bait), fishing licenses, water, ice. Anything else you’d like to eat or drink you should bring along with you. Though there is usually ample room in our onboard coolers, you may bring a small cooler for your provisions if you’d prefer.
