trip description for Captain's Choice - 24' Tidewater in St. Augustine

The estuaries of St Augustine hold some of the best inshore fishing in the world. Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Sheepshead all call this beautiful place home. Inshore fishing is available year-round. Bruiser Cobia, and smoker Kings are in the area most of the year as well. Usually just a couple miles offshore. For these Captain's Choice Trips, Captain Adam will take the weather and seasonal considerations into account to decide whether trolling the nearshore waters for a Cobia, Mackerel, Bull Red combo or sticking inshore to catch Redfish, Flounder, Trout, and Sheepshead will yield better results. He is also willing to take your goals and preferences for the day into consideration as well, but be warned weather can be a serious limiting factor for offshore fishing. No matter what the captain and you decide, the ride out is in a state-of-the-art, whisper-quiet boat, aptly named Reel Adrenaline.  You can sip your coffee, and talk at a normal voice.  No smelly diesel fumes, or load engines to spoil your trip.  The boat has a bow with a Carolina flair, making it the driest ride in the ocean. State-of-the-art electronics paired with Captain Adam's lifetime of saltwater fishing experience means you will go home with sore arms and big smiles. The fishing gear is likewise state of the art and compact. No broomstick-sized rods, and clunky reels on this vessel.  Every consideration has been made to make your angling the experience of a lifetime.  Welcome aboard! Palm Coast Fishing Overview

Palm Beach Fishing Charters may be overshadowed by St. Augustine, but it offers a world-class fishery in the local marshlands and Continental Shelf. Anglers can target Redfish in the inshore waters, while Trout, Tarpon, and Flounder also inhabit the area. Offshore, Grouper, Snapper, Kingfish, Marlin, Sailfish, and Tuna can be caught. The town's section of the Intracoastal Waterway has productive fishing spots, allowing for quick access on half-day trips. Inshore trips can be extended to a full day, while nearshore and offshore adventures are typically full-day packages. Bing's Landing serves as the main launching point for charters. Anglers over 16 must obtain a fishing license and adhere to local bag limits. Licensed charters provide all necessary information and licenses.

Palm Coast Freshwater Fishing

Freshwater fishing is only a short drive inland and offers unique fishing opportunities. Lake George is only a few miles west of the coast but the water is brackish as the St. Johns River nears the ocean. This lake is very productive for crappie and bass as well as several other inshore species. The wide variety of species to target in Lake George means there is no shortage of fish to catch. If you want to get two birds with one stone, this is the fishing spot for you.

Palm Coast Inshore Fishing

Palm Coast has great inshore fishing opportunities that can be found in the backwaters, rivers, inlets, and along the shoreline. These waters offer quality shots at some of the most sought-after inshore species. The inshore species available include trout, redfish, snook, and black drum with an added bonus of tarpon depending on the time of year. The brackish backcountry waters near Palm Coast are a great place to target more inshore species such as flounder, sheepshead, and pompano. Palm Coast Nearshore Fishing

With an array of wrecks and reefs to explore looking for larger nearshore species, you will find all the action you can handle. Dropping bait near structure will be the best approach for catching various snapper and grouper species. Trolling will provide amazing opportunities to catch prized game fish like kingfish, Spanish mackerel, and mahi-mahi, which are plentiful off the Atlantic Coast of Florida. These nearshore fish species crush bait and fight hard which is the perfect recipe for an exciting day of fishing.

Palm Coast Offshore Fishing

Head out to the offshore blue water to target the heavy-hitting pelagic species. The range of incredible species that patrol these waters include blackfin tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi, kingfish, and sailfish. Many of these fish come through the area during their migration with tuna and sailfish coming in strong in the spring. Summer lends itself to a strong mahi-mahi and kingfish bite while huge wahoo are hot in the cooler months. Offshore trolling is exhilarating with long fights, huge blowups, and even bigger fish.

Terrific Day! We had a great time and full kudos!

Charles P. with Steven S. of Daytona Beach, Florida

I set up a fishing trip with Captain Mike as part of my buddies bachelor party and could not have asked for a better experience. Capt. Mike was extremely professional and was an excellent guide. He personally reached out to me a few days before our scheduled departure to check in and see if I had any questions and give me more details. The morning of the trip Captain Mike had everything set up and waiting for us when we arrived to the dock. I was very impressed with how organized he was. The Captain wasted no time getting us on fish and the entire group started reeling them in one after the other. At the conclusion of the trip Captain Mike cleaned all of the fish we caught and bagged up the filets for us to take home. I would highly recommend Captain Mike to everyone. My buddies and I had a great time!

Five stars all around. I booked this trip to give my almost 5-year-old son, the ocean fishing experience. Srbo was very patient with him. Answered all of his questions about fishing, the boat, etc. He also kept his line in the water, helped him catch the biggest fish of the day and made sure we both had a great experience.

Christopher M. with Srbo T. of Daytona Beach, Florida

  • ★★★★★
With a huge storm the day before and winds still keeping most boats off the water we did very well. 12 fish total with 2 being sharks. One fish we caught was bit in half! Great day on the beach! Learned so many new skills as well and Kathy is too notch at sharing her techniques and working diligently to keep all three of us busey with four rods. You won't find that from a boat. Honestly with four poles soaking, most double rigs totaling 7-8 baits in the water at all times seems much more productive than one rod per angler getting snagged on a reef or baits getting stripped. Being an avid angler myself I'm very impressed with my first time surf fishing under post cold front conditions when many fish get finiky and tuff to commit to feed. Thank you Kathy!!! I'll be back!

Brian G. with Cathy S. of Flagler Beach, Florida

Captain Srbo was great! We really enjoyed our trip. We will definitely use Captain Srbo again in the future.
