trip description for Everglades Peacock Bass/Largemouth in Fort Lauderdale

If you've been looking to whack some epic freshwater fish in South Florida, look no further and join Captain Roy for a Peacock Bass bonanza! Peacock Bass aren't really bass at all, but are a type of large cichlid that originate in South America, where they dominate warm freshwater environments in Brazil, Colombia, and elsewhere. They're invasive here in Florida, but they're loved by anglers for their insanely aggressive fighting and flashy yellow, green, and orange colors. In addition to Peacocks, you can chase Largemouth Bass—the state freshwater fish of Florida—plus Cichlids, another remarkable invasive species that's a blast to catch. Cichlids are one of the coolest fish you can find in freshwater, and will hit on all kinds of bait and lures. With all these species, this trip is sure to be a blast! Captain Roy will put his experience to work, guiding you to the best holes and canals where fish love to congregate. His 20' Stratos bass boat is ideal for fishing this warm, shallow water, and he has tons of helpful tips to make sure you're hooking as many fish as possible. He provides almost everything you need to hook that prize trophy. All you need to bring on this amazing trip is water, appropriate clothing, and your family and friends. No matter how much experience you have fishing, this trip will be one for the books. Read More

Captain Ralph was a blast, definitely recommend and would go again!

Captain Justin was awesome. Caught 9 different fish species with him during our fishing part of the trip. He knew exactly where to cast, what to cast, and how to work the fishing pole. The hunt part was amazing as well. Got 12 Iguanas, one being around 41 inches. Justin has the best eyes when it comes to spotting them. He’d point one out while going full speed in the boat. it would take us 10-15 second to spot it. If you want to do an iguana hunt in the Fort Lauderdale area, book Justin.

Jeffery W. with Justin N. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Our trip with Anthony totally exceeded our expectations. From the moment we met him we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. His equipment is all first class and his knowledge of the back bay is extensive. After putting us on many fish and constant action, we were able to catch a beautiful snook for the dinner table and a fish that was a trophy fish of a lifetime. He then suggested a local restaurant and suggestions on how to prepare our catch. The ambiance, service and food preparation was the best meal of our entire trip. We would highly recommend Captain Anthony and love to spend more time with him whenever possible.
