trip description for Port A Cast-and-Blast in Port Aransas

This trip is perfect for hunters and anglers who want to do it all in the Port Aransas/Rockport area! On this cast-and-blast trip, you'll hunt all morning and fish all afternoon, without breaking the bank. Your guide and outfitter, Trey, has years of experience hunting and fishing the Texas coast, and will put you right on the birds and the Reds! In terms of wingshooting, South Texas is smack in the center of the Central Flyway, and is a stopover for dozens of migratory waterfowl specied. The sheltered bays here draw hundreds of thousands of ducks annually, including Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teals, Cinnamon Teals, Wigeons, Redheads, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Mottled Ducks. You can target all of these species, which are exciting quarries and great eating. Trey provides the boat, decoys, blind, and dog, so all you need to bring is your camouflage, your guns, and your shells. You'll get out there before dawn, and hunt for about three hours, when you'll break for lunch and then switch to fishing. For fishing, the bays and inshore waters off Port A are premier fishing grounds for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and more. Captain Trey will make sure you're hooked up with the best tackle to find your target species, and he'll do everything he can to help you pull a personal best over the rail, fill your cooler, or both. Captain Trey takes care of everything for your charter so all you need to bring is your sun protection, lunch/snacks and drinks, and your Texas fishing license! Read More

trip description for Rockport Bay Fishing Trip in Rockport

Captain Will is the real deal! He knows how to get you on the Redfish, Trout, Drum, and Flounder for a spectacular day off the coast of South Texas! Based out of the Rockport area, he primarily fishes the Aransas, Copano, St. Charles, Carlos, Mesquite, Ayres, and San Antonio Bays, but can also take you out of Aransas Pass. Though he is willing to accommodate other pickup locations, he likes to launch out of Goose Island State Park aboard his 2019 22' TransCat. This vessel is equipped with a 250 HP Suzuki motor that provides a comfortable and quick ride out to chase the fish. This boat likes to get "skinny", and is perfect for chasing tailing Reds into shallow water. It also comes with a power pole, trolling motor, t-top, and front fishing deck with plenty of room to fish with four guests. Once out on the water, Captain Will likes to fish with mostly live bait, cut bait, and some artificial. He will provide everything from rods, reels, tackle, bait, to a cooler of ice for the catch and a memorable day on the water! So all you need to bring is a cooler with your favorite snacks/drinks, a camera for bragging rights, and your Texas Fishing license, and let Captain Will take care of the rest! Read More

Capt. Larry is a true professional. He quickly developed realistic expectation and promptly delivered and then some. My two teenagers and I showed up never having done anything like this before. Capt. Larry explained that conditions were not ideal, but we should still catch a few. First thing took us to a proven spot, it took a little bit, but my 13-year-old daughter picked up a couple in the first 3-+- minutes. Larry knew immediately what was going on with the fish and put us all in position, we stayed pretty much in the same spot for the rest of the day and did very well. All we caught wee Redfish; we caught several in the 5.5#+ class. We had a great day. Or second day was a good day as well, each of us caught enough fish to feel like we knew what we were doing. Larry has a great way about him to make you feel comfortable and is very capable. We will come back again as long as we can fish with him. MT

This was one of the best things I ever booked. This was a surprise for my boyfriend and he had an awesome time. I came into this with very limited knowledge of fishing and left extremely confident in the fishing skills Larry had taught me. We each caught one fish, however that’s because we saw dolphins!!! I told Larry I really would like to see more dolphins and man he delivered!! Dolphins swam straight up to the boat it was amazing to see them in their natural habitat. Larry was very interested in what WE wanted to do and he was an amazing guide. I will for sure be bringing my father in law back to fish with Larry. 100% recommend!!!

Mattie P. with Larry B. of Aransas Pass, Texas

Everything went well and I had a lot of fun. Larry explained that the February freeze kinda depleted much of the population of fish and the Park Game & Wildlife had to get stricter on being able to keep the fish now. But I still had lots of fun.

First time doing a fishing trip. Captain Larry was very welcoming. He sent me reminders the day before the trip and called me to talk about how the trip would go, suggestions, and questions I had. He was very informational with showing me the basics of fishing and I learned to cast perfectly. Ended up catching a few fish!

Denny R. with Larry B. of Aransas Pass, Texas
