Unlike diving ducks and puddle ducks, Wood Ducks move on a much more consistent schedule and they don't dally. Between first light and sunrise, big flocks move from the roost site to their food source, all at once. If you're hitting your marks, you can have a very efficient morning hunt! They prefer backwater habitats, especially the sloughs and oxbows common in this area. Captain Mark will ferry you're group out to an island or a duck blind out in the bay and run back to the dock to wait for ya'll to text him when you're done.
